باب ما قيل في ذي الوجهين
حدثنا عمر بن حفص حدثنا أبي حدثنا الأعمش حدثنا أبو صالح عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم تجد من شر الناس يوم القيامة عند الله ذا الوجهين الذي يأتي هؤلاء بوجه وهؤلاء بوجه
رواه البخاري
Meaning:
........ from Abu Hurairah radhiallahu 'anhu (d. 59 AH) he said; The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "You will find the most ugly person by Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be a person with two faces, namely those who come to a class with one face and come to another group with a different face."
HR. Al Bukhari (d. 256 H)
Istifadah:
The purpose of the word "duplicity" in this hadith is the hypocritical nature, which is where a person shows an attitude on one occasion and another attitude on different occasions with a bad goal. This is as explained by Imam Badruddin al Ainy in his book Umdatul Qaary Syarh Shahih al Bukhari.
Indeed, the above hadith suggests a suggestion to all of us to always be honest and consistent in goodness by adjusting between faith and charity, between practice and words.
May we all be kept away from hypocrisy and protected from the wickedness of the hypocrites. Amiin.
