Allowable Hasad
Meaning:
......... from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (d. 32 AH) said; The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "It is not permissible except for two things; (towards) a person that Allah gives wealth then he uses the property in the way of truth and someone whom Allah gives wisdom and then practices and teaches it to others".
HR. Bukhari (d. 256 H)
Istifadah:
Islam is a perfect religion, in which it regulates how to achieve happiness. One way is to purify the soul and regulate what is in it as stated in Said Hawwa's book Tazkiyatun Nafs.
Imam An Nawawi rahimahullah explained, "The scholars divided hasad into two kinds, namely hasad hakaya and hasad majazi.
The ultimate idea is that someone hopes that the blessings of others will disappear. Hasad like this is forbidden based on the ulama 'ijma. As for the hasad majazi, what is meant is ghibthoh.
Ghibthoh is dreaming of getting pleasure like that of others without expecting the blessing to disappear from him. If this is in the case of obedience, then it is recommended. While the purpose of the hadith above is that there is no ghibtoh (preferred hasad) except for two things or what is meant by it. "
Ibn Baththol said, "This is what is meant by the chapter title presented by Imam Bukhari, namely" Chapter Ghibthoh in Science and Wisdom ". Because anyone who is in this condition (possessing property and then being used in the way of goodness and knowledge that is used as well), then someone should be ghibthoh or (intending to get favor like that) and compete in that kindness. "
